Akshay Mitra Foundation is a pan-India socio-cultural and humanitarian organization working towards national integration, cultural preservation, and service to humanity. Headquartered in New Delhi, the Foundation actively connects people, communities, and cultures across India and abroad.

The Foundation draws its strength from India’s rich cultural heritage, patriotic spirit, and the belief that social service is the highest form of nation service. Through large-scale cultural programs, humanitarian initiatives, employment support, and crisis response, the Foundation has touched thousands of lives across states.

His Educational & Professional Background

An engineer by training and a social worker by choice, Er. Akshay Kumar Samal has consistently blended professional excellence with social commitment. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Production Engineering and Industrial Management from a reputed Government Institute in Sonipat, Haryana, and an MBA in Customer Relationship Management from Manipal University.

With over twenty years of rich industrial experience, he worked in reputed auto industries in India, handling key roles across Business Planning and Development, Supply Chain Management, and Customer Relationship Management, both in India and abroad. During his corporate tenure, he played a pivotal role in providing more than 300 permanent jobs, benefiting primarily needy Odia youths and individuals from other communities.

Despite professional success, his inner calling led him away from corporate life. As he fondly recalls, “I switched over to social work and cultural mission—this is my true passion.”

Social, Cultural & National Contributions

Animated by a strong national spirit and patriotic fervor, Er. Samal has emerged as a powerful voice for social and cultural awakening across society. His meticulously designed and widely acclaimed program “Shaheedon Ko Salam” has gained national recognition and stolen the limelight at various cultural and patriotic platforms across India.

He has become an indispensable link uniting Odia communities across the nation, especially Odias residing in Delhi-NCR, working tirelessly to revive and promote Odisha’s glorious cultural heritage. To date, he has united over fifty thousand Odia people, including members of the Odishan diaspora living across India and abroad.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, in recognition of his exemplary service, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha appointed him as an Honorary Nodal Officer of Odisha Mo Paribar in Delhi-NCR, where he worked selflessly to support distressed Odias.

He is deeply associated with more than fifty Odia and non-Odia organizations across India and is also connected with over 21 Jagannatha Temple Management Committees nationwide.

Leadership, Organizations & Personal Life

Er. Akshay Kumar Samal is the Founder and National President of the Kalinga Bharti Foundation, a Pan-India registered socio-cultural organization headquartered in New Delhi. Under his visionary leadership, the Foundation works across India in the fields of Art & Culture, Community Development, Health & Education, and Environmental Protection.

He is also the Founder and former National President of Rashtriya Prabashi Odia Paribar (Delhi) and Founder & General Secretary of Utkal Jyoti Charitable Organization, Gurugram (Haryana).

Living in Delhi-NCR for over 25 years, he resides with his family. His wife is a dedicated teacher at a reputed English-medium school in Gurugram, Haryana, and actively participates in charitable activities. He hails from a middle-class family in Village Umar, Mahanga, Cuttack District, Odisha, where his brothers serve the nation as a District Collector and a Senior Scientist at NIC, Bhubaneswar.
